Programs Update:

The Sew In Love program has started, but if you want to participate, I still have available a limited number of spaces.

Ready for a new mystery?  The Quilter's Friendship program will be ready for pick-up late this week for those that signed up for the program.  I will be available on Saturday morning, November 17th, to go over the program set up and how I have prepared the kits.

I have started looking at new BOMs and Mystery Programs for the new year.  The first one I am considering is "Cream and Sugar" using Edyta Sitar's new collection, "Sonoma", coming in March.  Below are pictures of the Cream and Sugar quilt plus one of the Sonoma fabrics.  If you are interested in this BOM, please let me know.  I will not have the specific details of the program until I receive the pattern details in late February.

I will share other programs as I discover and plan them.

Randy's Rants:

Note from Janet: Those of you that are not familiar with Randy's humor may want to stop here. Randy's humor is different, but is meant only to entertain.

I , like many others, have much to be thankful for, and I am careful not to take these “blessings” for granted. For example:

Some time ago, Janet and I went hiking in the North Carolina Mountains. Our outing was truncated because I fell on a boulder at a waterfall. I was very fortunate not to have been seriously injured. Something for which I am very thankful.

Now, Janet could not resist documenting this on her Ipad with several photos. Never liked having my picture taken, and I looked pretty rough. I have never been photogenic plus all the swelling, discoloration, and blood did not accentuate my appearance in the least.

After we returned to work, several people asked about my “eye” including a woman in a group which had driven quite a distance to shop with us. (Another thing, for which I regard as a blessing.) After, the shop was closed, I asked Janet,

“Remember the woman with the group in the blue blouse?”

Her response, “Not really, but they bought a lot of Kaffe Fassett.”

I countered, “She asked about my eye.”

Janet responded," Did you tell her you tried to kiss a rock?”

In a matter of fact tone I responded, “Actually, I told her we had enrolled in a Sexual Dynamics Class for Seniors and you approached the section on S&M and Bondage with a bit too much zeal.”

The expression – Priceless!! The words – sort of what I expected.

“You did what?!!!!!  You can't say such things!! That is terrible!  I have a business reputation to maintain!"

Laughing I responded, “Well dear, I am doing my best to give you an “unforgettable” reputation! Plus just think - they will have something to talk about on the long drive home.”

Janet is a wonderful, caring, understanding gifted person – all that being said – she also has infinite patience to be able to put up with me. I know how lucky I am to be with her. I can not be thankful enough.

And for all those wondering, the bump on the head did not, as my mother used to say, “knock some since into me”.  Now the bruise on my backside, well it just added some color to a rather mundane subject.

We, like many others, plan on spending Thanksgiving with extended family. However, Janet, as well as many others, has expressed fear Thanksgiving Dinner will deteriorate into a polarizing political event complete with gestures and shouting. I told Janet, if they get to me, I plan on rendering a neutral opinion – something like –

“I learned from the recent election, that “polls” are best served by strippers.”

Janet just rolled her eyes.

Whatever you choose to discuss at Thanksgiving dinner – remember to count your blessings. May all of you have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

Quilt On,

Randy
