Winter Woes Sale
Now that the holidays are over I'm ready for Winter to end. Here is north Georgia we had a week of very cold weather for the region and now it is just going between mid 20s to mid 50s. What a swing. I really love snow for a day or two, but after that I am ready to warm up. This year we have not had a snow just cold rain. I really would rather have the snow. The few flurries we had this morning just doesn't count. Anyway, the fabric designers are trying to move us into Spring. There are some great collections that makes me feel warmer just looking at them.
Moda has introduced new collections by Deb Strain and the Create Joy Project. Deb has continued her bee designs with "Bee Grateful" and Create Joy has "Moody Blooms" and both are just delightful.
Northcott has released "Budding Romance" that you will fall in love with and "Bliss" - colors that will make you smile.
If you like a more traditional look Michael Miller's "Magnolia" may be just the collection you are looking for.
We still have many more boxes to check in so be sure and check out New Arrivals on our home page.
In addition to new fabrics, we have started carrying Quilter's Dream batting. We do not have all of the selections in stock now, but will continue to expand the line based on demand. In addition to packages, we now have Quilter's Dream 80/20 in natural and white on the roll. This is a 93" wide batting and Randy will be glad to assist you with your needs.
Finally, looking for a great calendar? The "Sew Happy" calendartowel designed by Robin Pickens is now in stock. This 18" x 27" towel would be great as a wall hanging or used as a towel in the kitchen. At $6.99 it is a great value and can be used even when 2021 is over.

New Programs
Aurifil's Color Builder
The first collection in Aurifil's Color Builder program is now in stock.
As a reminder, the 2021 Color Builder Subscription is a capsule of 12 mini-collections, each containing three large spools of 40wt thread -- a warm, a medium, and a dark. Wound on a bold green spool, Aurifil's 40wt/2ply thread is every bit as versatile as their 50wt but with just a bit more strength. 40wt is tremendous for sewing bags and garments, or for when a more defined topstitching or quilting pattern is desired. It is also their number one recommended weight for quilting and machine embroidery.
This year Aurifil has drawn their color inspiration from 12 magnificent Endangered Species, currently in dire need of attention, advocacy, and compassion. Through our year long marketing efforts, they’ll work toward affecting positive change via increased awareness and targeted fundraising. To help achieve these goals, Aurifil has partnered with Earth League International.
The first color is Sumatran Elephant. Three beautiful 40 wt grays. The suggested program price is $39.50 for each set, but we have decided to offer them at $34.99 for the set. Stock is limited, so don't miss out.

Moda's "My Favorite Color is moda" Sampler
Moda has designed a new sampler quilt featuring Bella Solids. There are 6 different colorways to choose from to complete this 81" x 99" quilt. Each quilt has 10 different solids in the quilt. We are still waiting on some of the solids to arrive, but kits should be available by the first of February. The sampler kit will include pattern, fabric for top and binding. The cost will be $99.95. Below are the color options for the program. We will put the kits up for sale as soon as the final fabrics have shipped. If you want to reserve a specific colorway, please give us a call at 770-781-0001.
Primrose Garden
Coastal Cool
Tropical Getaway
Cookie Tin
Treading Post
Pink Lemonade
Moda's Bella Solids are a favorite at the shop and I often get requests for a color card. While moda is not offering color cards, they have printed all of the Bella Solids on fabric. You can purchase 2/3rds of a yard and have your own fabric color chart and know that you are getting the solid color you need. (9900-10)

First, some business:
*Charity
As is our custom, Thread bear donated over 1,370 yards of fabric to charitable causes in 2020. Need is always in season. Many thanks for your support through a difficult year.
*International Shipping
Some countries are now requiring VAT taxes to be paid when the package is shipped. Unfortunately at this time, we do not have the ability to collect these funds when an order is placed. As a result, we will have to discontinue accepting orders to these location until our website provider expands services to include this option. As of January 1st, the UK has been added to this list.

As 2021, begins we all hope for a better year than 2020. To be honest, this is a pretty low bar to hurdle. Fact is, if 2020 was a person, I would sue him for pain and suffering!
Of course there is one redeeming quality of 2020 besides it being over - the old saying is "Hindsight is 20/20 is now technically correct! Being the diehard realist, I stayed up long enough to make sure 2020 left. Many, including us have hopes, dreams, and wishes for 2021.
Alas, some things just never change from year to year - like New Year Resolutions. Why are they always sooo draconian? Lose weight, exercise more, spend less, eat only salad - Where is the fun in all of that?!! What happened to hopes, dreams, wishes?
I suggest a revision of the traditional New Year's Resolution" list. What about, eat more pizza, have more sex, watch more football, drink more scotch - to name only a few. Oh, and of course, let us not forget - acquire more fabric!
Now, we can definitely, help you to keep that last one! Not only do we have an outrageous selection of fabrics to choose from, but we also have specially priced and sale items, both on line and in the store. Janet and Tina speak fluent "fabric" and are happy to assist you with your selections.
That's right, not only do we sell fabric, but we also dispense wish fulfillment, creativity, and accomplishment - all for free! Come see us or visit us at threadbearfabrics.com
Finally, as many of you know one of our daughters is stuck in Ireland during covid. So, here are a few "items" from Ireland:
Paddy, at the pub's New Year's party, turns to his friend, Shawn, and asks for a smoke.
“I thought you made a New Year's resolution and that you don’t smoke,” Shawn says.
“I'm in the process of quitting,” replies Paddy with a grin. “I am in the middle of phase one.”
“Phase one?” asks Shawn.
“Yeah,” laughs Paddy, “I've quit buying.”

Molly was taking an afternoon nap on New Year's Eve before the festivities began at the pup. After she woke up, she confided to Liam, her husband, 'I just dreamed that you gave me a diamond ring for a New Year's present. What do you think it all means?'
'Aha, you'll know tonight,' answered Liam smiling broadly.
At midnight, as the New Year was chiming, Liam approached Molly and handed her small package. Delighted and excited she opened it quickly. There in her hand rested a book entitled: 'The meaning of dreams'.

On New Year's Eve, Finn was in no shape to drive, so he sensibly left his van in the car park and walked home. As he was wobbling along the motorway, not far from the pup, he was stopped by a policeman. 'What are you doing out here at four o'clock in the morning?' asked the police officer.
'I'm on my way to a lecture,' answered Finn.
'And who on earth, in their right mind, is going to give a lecture at this time on New Year's Eve?' inquired the constable sarcastically.
'My wife,' slurred Finn grimly.

On New Year's Eve, Erin stood up in the local pub and said that it was time to get ready. At the stroke of midnight, she wanted every husband to be standing next to the one person who made his life worth living. Well, it was kind of embarrassing. As the clock struck, the bartender was almost crushed to death.

Finally, the the Irish are known for their "Blessings". I do not know if this is Irish, but one of our good customers sent us this:
"In 2021 , may you have enough, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and good times to wipe away 2020."
No matter what 2021 brings, we ask you to keep quilting through the good and the bad.
We wish you the very best always,
Janet + Randy
