Melba Feature Panel Print - Inspired by Architecture and Interior Design from the 1920’s including the Royal Exhibition Buildings in Melbourne, built in 1888 to house Queen Victoria’s World Exhibition.
This design features bold motifs in a 24” design. Each motif is inspired by design features typical of the late 1800’s, early 1900’s including plasterwork, pressed ceilings, feature windows and wall features. You will find the Octagonal, Keyhole, Fan and Circle shapes featured in the ceiling domes, doors and windows at the Royal Exhibition Buildings in Melbourne, that Dame Nellie Melba’s father, Major Mitchell built in the late 1800’s. This building is now the home of the annual Australasian Quilt Convention!
You can easily cut out each individual motif to use for individual blocks, embroidery purse, making small items such as needlework cases, placemats and Christmas Decorations. The design can also be used simply as large panels within a quilt, pretty aprons or a bedrunners, cushions and café curtains.
In this particular Nouveau color story on an ivory background features rich shades of burgundy, dusky pinks, mint and leaf greens with highlights in soft cream and metallic silver.
